I am planning on driving down to Charleston, SC to try out for this years american idol, I'm just wondering though if there are any tips tricks or helpful hints as to what to do, what not to do and things of that nature. what time should I get to try outs? Eleven companies on Friday night will pitch their socially conscious business plans at an event that is one part TechStars Demo Day, one part Ignite, one part American Idol and another part rock show.

The Common Pitch event — headlined by indie-pop band Tennis — is an entrepreneur-focused arm of Boulder-based Common, a “startup-starting startup” founded by former ad man Alex Bogusky; his wife, Ana; Rob Schuham and John Bielenberg. Common was launched as a means of creating a community for rapidly prototyping social change, said Carmel Hagen, the producer for Common Pitch.

Didn't that girl joanna from american idol last year get kicked out because she was already signed to a record deal? So why can Lee Dewyze be allowed to be on Idol?

Ok, it doesn't matter how many records u have or if ur apart if a recirs label u just can't be under contract with any record label at the time u are on American idol. That's why carly was able to do the show. And the guy that happened to this year, he couldnt get his papers in quick enough to prove he was under no contract.
