By Jeff Baker, The OregonianMay 11, 2010, 4:57PMKristen WiigKristen Wiig, a member of the “Saturday Night Live” cast, just optioned the film rights to Portland writer Monica Drake’s first novel “Clown Girl.” Wiig, who has appeared in numerous movies in recent years, plans to write the script and play the lead character.

Drake said she hasn’t talked to Wiig but has known about Wiig’s interest for some time. She said Wiig bought an 18-month option with the possibility of an 18-month renewal. Drake went to Los Angeles twice last year to talk about selling the rights and met with a producer who used to work for Brad Pitt’s company and helped put the deal together.

3D Star Footprints is a great application to take iPhone users on a virtual tour of the hand and footprints outside of the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, CA.  The application offers both 3D and 2D pictures of the famous sidewalk.  By scrolling a finger along the screen, the iPhone user takes a virtual tour along the walk to see stars like Brad Pitt to Gregory Peck.  By double tapping the headshot on the sidewalk, a short resume, biography, and up close picture of the hand and footprints come up.
