well first off, i dont even know who the heck Selena Gomez is!lol, second, if you don't want to be over the top then you are most likely not going to want to dress as Lady Gaga. So yes i would say go with Katy Perry. Wear a retro pinup type look…i cant really explain it, but go for a 70 pin up girl.

It was an enormous success for the bride and a triumph for Ms. Burton, who became the creative director of the Alexander McQueen label last year after Mr. McQueen’s suicide. It was also timely, considering that the Metropolitan Museum of Art will open its major McQueen retrospective on Wednesday.

The gown was well received not merely because it was pretty — or flawless, actually. this was also a significant fashion moment because the design of the dress, the selection of its designer and even the degree of secrecy that surrounded its preparation seemed remarkably well calculated to project a specific image about Ms. Middleton. That is, she represents a new breed of the British monarchy, one that is respectful of its boundaries and traditions, but is not stuffy and off-putting to the general populace.

It’s time to get red hot.  Red has always been the go-to color if you want to look glamorous and fierce.  This spring, red has been seen all over the runways and also worn on the red carpet.  The hottest shade of red this season is tomato red, which goes perfectly with the bold color trend for Spring 2011.  Tomato is a brighter hue in the red family, making it ideal for a spring wardrobe.

The Oscars red carpet was covered in celebrities in head-to-toe red.  The beautiful host of the evening, Anne Hathaway, matched her bright red lips with a strapless red gown featuring a bustle and floral appliqués, which are a very popular detail this season.  Sandra Bullock took it to the extreme by wearing a bright red dress while carrying a darker red clutch and also had red lips to match.  The most buzzed about young Hollywood couple, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber, coordinated in red for the Vanity Fair Oscar party.  Selena looked flawless in a red V-neck gown, while Justin accessorized his suit with a red pocket square.  Take inspiration from Selena and Justin and have your date accent his outfit in the color of your dress on prom night.
