Your Daily Celebrity Gossip Juice
Normally I don’t care much for celebrity gossip or news…but does it seem that when high profile female celebrities like Fergie (of the Black Eyed Peas) and Megan Fox claim to be bisexual, people seem to be extremely accepting of it for the most part and even seem to celebrate it?
However, do you think that if a high profile male celebrity did the same, the general public and mainstream media would react the same way? Or do you think they might seem less interested or accepting and even possibly hostile in their reactions if someone like say, George Clooney, Will Smith or Matt Damon came out as bisexual?
I noticed when Billie Joe Armstrong, lead singer of Green Day, came out as bisexual back in 1995, there was little fanfare or mention of it in the press.
I often wonder if the female celebrities who claim they’re bisexual really are, or if they’re only doing so in order to titillate their legions of heterosexual male fans.
If it were the latter case, that would be extremely offensive to people like myself who are genuinely bisexual, as it makes it seem as if bisexuality is not a legitimate sexual orientation but simply a behavioral phase with which people experiment.

Same-sex relationships between women are more accepted than those between men, so much so that in many countries with fines and prison time for being homosexual; there is no crime if it occurs between two women. I think society, at least Western society, considers female bi-sexuals as totally natural. However, they view as sin, immorality, or unnatural those relations between men. I’ve had ******* and Bi female friends tell me they find relations between two men to be disgusting. Personally, I completely disagree and do think this sets a double standard. So you’re right on the money with that one.
It is because female bisexuality is seen as incredibly **** to straight men, who rule the world. It plays into their fanatasies of having *** with two ******** and stuff like that because that’s what turns them on so they buy into it. If men are bisexual, that will just creep a lot of ignorant guys out because they don’t want to think of two guys together because they feel stuff like that threatens their own sexuality. Yes, it’s a very stupid double standard and I wish it would do away.
depends on the times:
When Bowie came out as Bi in mid- ’70’s, it was cover of “People” mag; now it’s like, ’so what’?
